Problem Solving

Sometimes the solutions are simple, we just need to look around and experiment with the tools available.

The content and the format of the online course served well its purpose. When a new audience emerged (non-educators), we needed to find another way to present the content. Some challenges and opportunities arise as we move forward. We don’t need to shy away from challenges but embrace the opportunity for growth.

Adaptability

Timeline of Federally Recognized Nations

The format of the previous timelines was not easy to access for the public unless they were taking the Amplify Native Voices online course. Also, the format was not easy to update if needed. We change the format to make it user friendly for the user and those who had to maintain the timeline content.

About The Project »

The timelines content is lengthy and there was no possibility of shortening the content. All content needed to be in one page. So that meant, the designed and presentation of the information needed to change. There are occasions where our circumstances will not be able to change but we can surely change our views and attitudes of the circumstances.

Collaboration

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller.

This project like all my other projects have been a collaboration of many people. I know that if I design without any input or feedback from others, I will come up with a potential design for me. But when I reach out and look to collaborate, together we can create experiences to enrich others.

Curiosity

Curiosity without exploration is a dreamer’s nightmare. I was curious if I could do this project. I had never worked on an online training to this level before. But I really wanted to know if I could, so I asked for the opportunity to do it. It was intimidating but I had fun learning.

Project Managment

BYU Arts Partnership’s Website

The BYU Arts Partnership (BAP) website contains great amount of information and resources for educators. BAP’s team noticed that the resources were underutilized. Educators were having a hard time locating our resources within the website. This project was to redesign the website to be a better educational tool for educators and to be resource tool for their goals to integrate the arts.

About The Project »

This was an opportunity to grow and experience a design process from the beginnings. I had redesigned a website before, but I in that occasion I wasn’t the one driving the process before. This time I was given the opportunity to manage tasks and work with team members in a different level. I’m grateful I’ve had mentors who have taught me that leaders don’t know everything but are willing to be taught by everyone.
