Process Guide & Step-by-step Guides
Apprenticeship Admin Guide
Background Information
Organization: Landmark Excavating Inc.
Organization Type: Construction Company
Client: IT & Systems Department
Audience for the project: Training Program Manager
Problem/Issue
Landmark had created an apprenticeship program for their field workers to obtain Craft Labor certification by the US Department of Labor. The company had grown rapidly and needed to create a better process to maintain the program with the demand. There was no documentation nor formalized process to manage the apprenticeship program.
Solution
Before we could improve the process, we need to document and understand the current process. After gathering information from stakeholders, collaborators, and participants, I created a guide with instruction on how to manage the apprenticeship. In the process, we improved the different processes to manage each stage of the apprentice’s learning path.
Platform: Word & InDesign
My Roll in the Project
Training Program Coordinator, Instructional Designer, & Graphic Designer.
Highlights
- Collaborated with internal and external stakeholders to gather all the information needed to run the apprenticeship program, and to guide the apprenticeships through their learning path.
- As gaps in the process were discovered, I improved and refined the process guide to make sure those gaps were closed and recorded in the guide.
